Why Choose Guanajuato? Property for Sale in Guanajuato City, Mexico
Guanajuato is one of the most affordable, yet most dynamic cities on the planet! If you love art, theater, and entertainment and the excitement of concerts and a social environment that never sleeps, Guanajuato is the city for you. Our property in Pueblito de Rocha is close enough to the city that you can arrive in the centro after only 20 minutes of walking (less time if you walk 1 minute to Tepetapa street and take the bus or a taxi), but far enough away from the city to provide some peace and quiet. The view from the 5th floor terrace overlooks the surrounding mountains in all directions.
You’ll never be bored in Guanajuato. There’s so much to do and so much going on here all the time that you can literally go out every night of the week and enjoy a different event or venue. If you want to live in a space that’s within steps of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as a butcher shop and all of the toiletries that you need for daily living, Casa en Pueblito is the ideal piece of real estate in Guanajuato City. Guanajuato could easily be regarded as the best city in Mexico because of its incredible entertainment options, its walk-ability, and its sheer uniqueness in terms of how the city is laid out and the vibrancy of the landscape and people. That’s my opinion, but there are plenty of other people who rate Guanajuato Capital as one of the best cities in Mexico. The Casa en Pueblito is ideal because you can take a taxi from the centro directly to the front door of the house without having to walk up 100+ steps as many people do in Guanajuato City, but you can also easily walk to the centro. On your way (a 15-20 minute walk), you’ll pass numerous bakeries, the Soriana grocery store, and the Hidalgo market, as well as numerous cafés and restaurants.
This is a city for both young and old. There’s a decently sized expat population living here along with a number worldschooling parents and children, including worldschooling influencer Lainie Liberti (who recently opened a café in Guanajuato City called Chango Tres where people can play board games). As a worldschool hub, Guanajuato City is ideal because there’s plenty to do and it’s easy to meet other English-speaking parents and kids through the numerous Spanish language schools in Guanajuato. The same is true for older retirees or even digital nomads. Whether you take up residence here permanently or just part-time, the Guanajuato Spanish language schools provide a way for people to connect easily to other like-minded individuals who speak English from all over the world. Meanwhile, if you wish to learn Spanish, Guanajuato City is the ideal place to do that because locals won’t override your efforts at speaking Spanish with their English as they do in San Miguel de Allende.
